Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation has appointed the AECOM Asia led consortium (JV between Padeco, Japan, LBG Inc., USA and Egis Rail, France) as General Consultants for Mumbai Metro Line-3, on the 'Quality and Cost basis' in concurrence with JICA guidelines.
General Consultants are on board to assist MMRC in design, supervision, quality control, safety and contract management of the project. The overall scope of work for the General Consultants will be broadly as under:
- Assist in evaluation of bids for civil works
- Review and proof-checking of detailed designs
- Prepare tender design and documents for procurement of track work, rolling stock, system components
- Supervise construction including supply and installation
- Supervise works and ensure safety, quality and environmental aspects
- Commission of all system components
- Test and commission the entire system
- Preparation/finalization of operation and maintenance manuals
